“I guess I don’t remember a time without tea parties in my life. It began when I was little, and my grandmother gave me a child’s china tea set. I would set the table and my mom, my grandmother, and assorted dolls would ‘come to tea.’ (Sometimes the teapot would be filled with sweet tea, and other times, soda, juice, water, etc.)

I would return the favor with my niece. She would request a tea party whenever she visited. Later, for my birthday, she gave me a puzzle of a little girl and her stuffed bears having tea. I cherish it still. When my mom turned 85, we went to ‘Tea By Two’ tearoom in Bel Air and shared memories along with tea and scones. If I am lucky enough to ever become a grandmother, I plan on continuing the tradition. Now I have joined the Ladies’ Tea Society, and I hope more ‘tea parties’ are in my future!”
